JOHN E. WRIGHT
I am grateful that I get to do what I love. I have worked in the entertainment industry for over 25 years and after all this time I still can’t imagine doing anything else. I have been lucky enough to travel the world as a professional designer, but my true passion is helping to develop the next generation of entertainment professionals. I am currently a Professor at Georgia Southern University Armstrong in Savannah Georgia. I earned my Master of Fine Arts (MFA) from the University of Georgia with a focus in Scenic Design. My areas of focus are in Scenic, Lighting and Sound Design with a special interest in Stagecraft, entertainment engineering, and problem solving.
My designs have been seen at Comic Con, Disney, Sixflags, NASA and as far as Spain, Italy and France. As a sound designer I have worked as the head sound and lighting engineer with Royal Caribbean, Cumberland County Playhouse, Savannah Repertory Theatre, my sound designs have been heard from New York to Chicago to Houston and L.A.
In my spare time I collect classic Vespa scooters, play and record music, along with building custom furniture. I recently married my best friend and partner in crime Jaye. Her love and support keep me going even on the longest of days. Together we have five animals that fill our house with love and dander, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Thank you for stopping by and I am always here to help with any project no matter the size.
